I have had a further review of my business over the last couple of months and have decided to make some more changes.

For the last couple of years I have been developing a website that does not run in the Internet Marketing niche that Traffic Exchanges and Mailers do and is a very local based website.

This coupled with the slow down of Traffic Exchanges and Mailers and the success of my traffic club has meant that not only do I not have as much time but it is also harder to promote so many sites when other sites have a limited number of ads they can show.

For anyone that does not know how my traffic club works basically my main rotator shows one of my sites then a traffic club members site. This means that only every other hit that I send to my rotator (Main promotion URL) actually goes to one of my sites, then divide that by 10 sites and you can see that each site is only shown once every 20 hits to the URL.

With a lot of Traffic Exchanges only delivering 20-60 hits per day per URL that means that each site is only being shown at each TE between once and 3 times per day. This is making it harder to really push and brand the sites.

So after careful thought I have again decided to offload some more sites and then really concentrate on just one TE and one Mailer. That means that the sites I am keeping are Mail Our List and Just Good Traffic and then a couple of back end ones like IM Digital Training that sells some great marketing products but is very hands free and Ready To Go Traffic Sites where i am increasingly busy doing little jobs for other owners.

Oh and I will of course be keeping my blog and Steve Points members area too 🙂

In fact the plan is that for the days that I do spend promoting in this niche I can really concentrate on promoting just one mailer and TE and grow them to be a lot bigger than they are. Plus I have started to really improve Steve Points too which will make it even better and more rewarding.

So that means that the other sites are slowly making their way to new owners and they go with my full support and an agreement to provide all existing members with everything they have paid for going forward so all your memberships are still valid.

They are great back end sites that i still believe offer a great service, so I will still be promoting them myself on the back end just not doing the day to day running and main promotion of them.

I actually have an opportunity for someone to acquire one or two of them if you want to give me a shout on Skype and have a chat.

So to recap, I am trimming down my internet marketing business even more but plan on spending the time saved and the extra advertising to grow them much bigger and better than they are so look out for the improvements over the next few weeks.

It has been a challenging time in this IM niche that we work in but I am not going to give up and although I have made a lot of changes over the last few years, what is left will be bigger better and stronger so thanks for continuing on this magical if not stressful journey with me.

  1. Hi Steve,

Thanks for the article on your thoughts about your business. Evaluation is a necessary part of any business. And following through on what you see is critical.

I’ve been doing much the same thing and moved away from TE advertising and focused like you in promoting only two products.

I admit to not paying much attention to Steve Points so I will have to look into that.

I use Mail Our List everyday, and it is on my list as a top converting site.

Thank you for the comment, I think it is important now more than ever to not spread yourself too thin. My thinking has changed from having a whole host of sites to having just a couple really good ones. You will see something new about Steve Points inside Mail Our list over the coming weeks 🙂

  2. Steve when I surf the site and claim my 123 reward it tells me to sign into Steve Ayling .com even though I am already there, why is that happening.
